Timestreams - for solo percussion (2019)

Timestreams explores multiple interactions between polyrhythmically related layers of time. These layers are present in each of the four process driven textures that shape the piece. Each of these textures were composed individually then disassembled and distributed throughout the work. The concept of mediation between multiple streams of time implied by the title refers to both the temporal layers present throughout the music and the interaction between the four textures that make up the form. The resulting music is expressive and full of juxtapositions as each of the textures function differently than their goal driven processes dictate.
